I grew up making this Biscuit Donut Hole recipe into large donuts – you simply just cut out the middles and fry up the biscuits! But with my own little kids and little bellies, I wanted something smaller for the children. Plus, you can eat a lot more biscuit donut holes in one sitting that one large donut with a fraction of the guilt.

I hope you enjoy these Biscuit Donut Holes as much as my family always did.

Here’s how I make my Biscuit Donut Hole recipe:

[INGREDIENTS]

1 tube of biscuits

2-3 cups of oil (for frying – I used avocado due to allergies in my home)

1 cup white sugar

1 TBSP cinnamon

[INSTRUCTIONS]

Start by heating up 2 cups of oil in a medium sauce pan. I used a normal 3 quart sauce pan, but if you use anything larger, you may need 3 cups of oil. You’ll need a food thermometer to be sure the oil is the correct temp. Heat to 360 degrees, the adjust heat as needed maintain correct temperature.

While oil is heating, cut the biscuits into one inch pieces. Quickly roll each piece into more of a ball form – you don’t need to spend too much time on this since the pieces will somewhat lose shape once they cook.

Once biscuits are cut and formed – and oil is heated – prepare cinnamon sugar mixture by simply mixing up the cinnamon and sugar in medium size bowl. Create an assembly line of biscuit balls, then oil, then cinnamon sugar mixture, and finish with a pan for your finished product.

Drop about six biscuit donut holes into oil at a time. Allow to cook for a minute or two. Use a deep fry ladle or fork to flip the biscuit donut holes over to the other side for cooking. Once darkened on both sides, retrieve donut holes out of oil and drop into cinnamon sugar mixture. Then, retrieve donut holes from mixture and finish by laying them on a pan. Repeat this process until you have cooking and coated all the biscuit donut holes.

Enjoy as fresh as possible. Otherwise, refrigerate leftovers and reheat in microwave for about 10 seconds when eating again.
