Welcome to Somer Saves You!

I’m Somer.
There’s just a few things I’m passionate about in this life – Jesus Christ saving my soul, my family, and the practicality of frugal living. Not only do I believe it’s right, but I also believe it’s easier than you think!
This is not a popular opinion in today’s world. Most people want more success, more things, more freedom, and more of what they already have. We’ve spent time chasing things like money, freedom, and material possessions, but at the end of it all, our family decided time with one another is the most important thing there is. This quality time brings us closer to one another, as well as our Savior.
If you’re new to living frugally, HELLO. I’m so glad you’re here.
This website is my attempt to help others understand how the standards of living we experience in our American culture today are much higher than they need to be. Contentment comes when you understand God is the giver of all things and you learn to steward what you do have well.
I desire to teach you how to live off less, earn extra income through side hustles, score more freebies every day, and stick to your monthly budget.
Get To Know Us
We are a family of four – dad, mom, older daughter, younger son.
Our family lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Becoming a wife and mama was a whole lot harder than I anticipated, yet God is using it to shape me. He gives me the persistence for it day after day.
My family of four lives off less than $50,000 a year and we have no plans (or needs) to increase that yearly income.
My husband and I both work to run our frugal living business. We currently live fully funded by side hustles.
We save money each year, we invest money each year, and we strive to give generously to others when at all possible.
Family time is important. It guides our everyday decisions, whether big or small.
Family dinners are important to us. We shop on Amazon sparingly. We do not drive new cars or have the latest tech. We shop mostly second hand. Our needs list is small. My husband and I enjoy going on dates. And all four of us enjoy eating out.
