If I only had ten minutes to talk to you about frugal living, I’d tell you about the apps you need to spend less and save more money.
I’m not talking the next best health app or another social media app to join. Instead, I’d share about the apps you need that can help you save money.
Let’s learn about those apps so you can start saving money too!
Scroll through these apps and see which ones you recognize. Some of the apps you need help save money on purchases through offering rebates, other apps save money on groceries, and still others reveal discounts you never knew about.

Earn Rebates On Purchases
Sometimes the most effective way to earn more money is to earn rebates on purchases you’re already making. Think about it – if you already need to spend money on toilet paper and snacks and hotel stays, why don’t you try to earn some extra money back along the way?
Try and remember, the point is not to spend just to get a good rebate. Instead, the point is to earn cash back from what you’re already planning to purchase.
Here’s 3 apps to use to earn rebates on purchases:
BRANDCLUB – A low maintenance app that does the work for you. Sign up for Brandclub, sync your accounts (Costco, Walmart, Target, Amazon, etc.), and you’ll be automatically earning cash back on every single purchase you make.
Check out what my friend Morgan had to say about Brandclub:

RAKUTEN – My personal favorite for rebates on all things travel! Shop through the Rakuten app and you’ll be earning cash back on every hotel stay, car rental, and beyond! The Rakuten app is for any online purchase, we’ve just utilized it best for travel purchases. Be sure to browse all the stores and websites you can earn money back with on Rakuten.
THE BEST PART OF RAKUTEN?? Earn $30 just for signing up and making your first purchase through the app.
FETCH – Save your receipts for this app! Sign up for Fetch and you’ll start off with 2,000 free points right away! Scan every single receipt you have/receive for more points. Then, sync your email and Amazon accounts to earn even more points on every purchase. Fetch accepts any receipts from any store, so it’s easy to earn points quickly.
Earn Cash Back On Groceries
There are two main apps I use to earn cash back on groceries. I already told you about Fetch. Receipts from the grocery store uploaded to Fetch will likely earn you the most points! But there are other rebate apps that need recognition as effective ways to earn cash back on groceries.
AISLE – This website/app offers a rotating list of new, natural product offers that will score you discounts or freebies you didn’t know existed! Visit the website and enter your phone number for offers in your area.
IBOTTA – There are hundreds of products to earn cash back on through the Ibotta app. Plus, they’re always adding new products as well! Sign up for Ibotta to earn $5 automatically after you upload your first receipt. Just remember, the best way to earn cash back is through purchases you’re already intending to make. Don’t purchase extra products (unless they are 100% cash back offers) just to earn cash back as this won’t actually save you money in the long run.
Here’s what some of the offers in the Ibotta app could be:

Find Discounts On Groceries
Earning cash back on groceries is nice and all, but most families would rather just find discounts on groceries in general. This could allow grocery budgets to drop significantly, freeing up money in other areas of life.
Here’s a few ways I NEVER pay full price for groceries:
FLASHFOOD – This app saves food that would otherwise go to the landfill by offering extremely discounted prices. Think bread, meat, produce that the grocery store would otherwise throw away offered to anyone and everyone would will take it. Download the app with code SOME49BQT and check out the Flashfood locations in your area.
Discover discount stores near you through this website. Discount stores all around the United States offer groceries at a fraction of the cost of regular grocery stores. Most products at these stores are just a result of overstock, damaged packaging, or close to expiration making them still perfectly delicious!
Planning to eat out? There are ways to secure takeout for cheap too! Check out the Too Good To Go app for offers from local restaurants looking to sell day old goods at a discount. I also love using the Kids Eat Free app to look up the best free kids meal offers in my area.
Save Money On Gas
Let’s talk about learning to save money on gas. In a country where gas prices change with every blink of an eye, finding a way to save money on gas is one of the best financial decisions you can make.
Here’s an app everyone who owns a car or eats out needs to start using:
UPSIDE – Get anywhere from a couple cents to an entire dollar back on every single gallon of gas you purchase. Plus, find cash back offers for restaurants near you on the Upside app. Get 15 cents per gallon back on your first fill up!
Driving on a road trip? Find the cheapest gas station to stop at through the iExit app. We used this app almost daily while on our six month road trip around America to find the best gas prices around.
A Few More Apps To Mention
Purchase a GetOutPass, then use the app to find all the best parks, museums, and excursions in your city. By investing in a GetOutPass, you pay a one time fee for excursions in your town that would otherwise cost hundreds of dollars totaled up. Use discount code SOMERSAVES at check out for an extra $5 off each pass. (This pass is only offered in select locations.)
Have you heard of the Hip2Save app? This website/app compiles information on every single freebie, deal, and discount you need to know about. My favorite part about the app is “Legit Freebies & Samples” section in the Categories tab. Check it out!

I hope this post has helped you find more apps you need to save money in every area of life. Cash back is easier than you think. Discounts are all around us. Start downloading apps to maximize your savings!
