Our family of four is embarking on a six month road trip in less than two weeks! It’s wild, it’s bold, and it’s unthinkable for most. But here we are, about to try if for ourselves!
There’s so much I want to see, experience, and try during the next six months… but there’s also plenty I’m worried and anxious about as well. That’s why we trust the Lord will go before every step of the trip.
As you may or may not follow, I share LOADS of content on saving money, finding freebies, and choosing financial wisdom on my social media accounts. Find me on Instagram and TikTok. I recently published a guide to Living Off Less as well, where you’ll learn every hack I use in my frugal lifestyle allowing my family of four to live off $50,000/year. All this got me thinking, what else in this life is much more affordable than people might believe?

This includes lodging, excursions, driving, eating out, shopping, and everything else involved in a giant road trip around America. I want to teach you how to save money no matter where you live in the country.
How is this all possible? Well, we’ve lived frugally all our married life. When we receive money from birthdays, side hustles, tax returns, or even normal monthly savings, we tend to always save it. Our family doesn’t spend on much more than needs, so even living off just $50,000 a year still allows us enough extra to even consider a trip like this. Neither of our kids are in school full-time yet. And Travis is between jobs, currently deciding what he’ll do next. We have experience hosting with Airbnb, so we will be renting out our own home during the months of the trip for some extra income. Above all, we desire to grow our little frugal-living business. I put hours into research, posts, and messages each week. Helping others save money is truly my passion! Currently, we don’t make much from this business, but we’re hoping that changes during the trip!
